What if this ordinary day is actually one of the good ones?
On noticing a good day while you are still inside it.
Most good days do not announce themselves. They look like a Tuesday: a coffee that came out right, a conversation that ran ten minutes longer than planned, a walk home in light that was a little warmer than expected.
We tend to recognise them later, from a distance, when they have already turned into a memory. The trick, if there is one, is to notice a little earlier.
Try it today. Somewhere around the middle of the afternoon, stop and ask: if I remembered this day in a year, what would I remember? Then do a little more of that.
